Kung Hoy Fat Choi – the monster in Chinese New Year Celebrations

A very short post today.  Well, short on my own blog, at least.  Today I am a guest over at the fabulous Scribble City Central, Lucy Coat’s author blog.  She’s got a great project on called Fantabulous Fridays where, very week, she invites a children’s author to talk about a mythological beast or monster.

I’ve talked about the Nien, or the Nian as it is sometimes called.   He’s huge, he’s vicious, and he is the reason why you see the awesome lion dance on the streets at Chinese New Year.

So hop over to Scribble City Central for a gander.  (the visit might also inspire to go out and buy red underpants or knickers)
